BEST TIME TO VISIT
June–October is usually best for dry roads and concentrated wildlife. January–February can be green and attractive; some camps reduce operations during the heavier rains of March–May.

June–October brings dry conditions and wildlife toward remaining water. November–February is greener, quieter and superb for birds; access may be limited during the heavier rains.

Scan the open Mkata floodplain for giraffe, zebra, elephant, buffalo, antelope and predators against a backdrop of low mountains. Its accessibility makes Mikumi ideal for a compact safari from Dar es Salaam.
WHERE YOU CAN STAY
Stay at a lodge or tented camp in or near the park, with practical choices for couples, families and groups. We can arrange a road transfer, train connection where suitable, or a short flight.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
June–October is generally dry and reliable for game viewing. November–February offers greener scenery and birding, while March–May is wetter and roads can be slower.

Udzungwa Mountains
WHAT YOU CAN SEE & DO
Walk through biodiverse rainforest with a trained guide, listening for endemic primates and birds before reaching viewpoints and the multi-tiered Sanje waterfalls. This is a hiking destination rather than a vehicle safari.
WHERE YOU CAN STAY
Simple forest camps, comfortable lodge-style stays and community-run options sit near the park entrance. Udzungwa combines naturally with Mikumi for a varied bush-and-mountain itinerary.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
June–October is usually drier for hiking. December–February can also work well. Trails are lush but slippery during the main rains, especially March–May.
