Take a simple boat trip from the city to a protected marine-reserve island for swimming, snorkelling, seafood and a change of pace. Facilities are basic, which is part of the appeal.

These islands are day-trip destinations rather than overnight resorts. Stay in Masaki, Oysterbay or central Dar and travel to the departure point by private transfer.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
June–October and January–February often bring favourable beach weather, but all boats depend on wind, tides and sea conditions on the day.

Open-air visits are most comfortable in the morning and in the drier months. Programme availability and performance times should be confirmed in advance.
